One among Australia’s most profitable horse trainers has been arrested throughout a raid on his stables, studies say.

Darren Weir, who gained the coveted Melbourne Cup in 2015, is believed to be amongst three males detained as a part of an investigation into corruption and the attainable use of electrical shock units on horses.

Police made the arrests following raids at properties in Ballarat and Warrnambool in Victoria.
