Jan. 11 (Bulletinstandard) — Northrop Grumman Techniques Corp. was awarded an $86.2 million contract by the U.S. Military in assist of the Starlite radar system.
The contract, introduced Thursday by the Division of Protection, is a hybrid fixed-price and cost-plus-fixed-fee settlement.
The AN/ZPY-1 STARLite radar system is a small radar unit used on tactical aerial reconnaissance missions that embody transferring goal detection, maritime searches, battlefield intelligence and through-the-weather surveillance.
The system can be utilized on each manned and unmanned aerial system platforms, based on Northrop Grumman.
An estimated completion date for the contract is Jan. 31, 2023, with work places but to be decided. The U.S. Military Contracting Command at Aberdeen Proving Floor, Md., is the contracting agent.
